Writing Bouquet

Finally, the solution to missing pens and pencils from my desk at school!

The sunflowers are pencils, ivy stems are pens, and the "baby's breath" is the eraser.

I bought 2 bunches of sunflowers at the WalMart ($1 each) for a total of 12 stems; had the ivy and baby's breath, as well as the floral tape on hand - an inexpensive solution to the continuing case of missing (not returned?) writing utensils.

Plumbing

After all that plumbing we contracted out this summer, something else broke last Sunday -- the kitchen sink! D had to replace the original sink basket and strainer on each side.

Of course this took place after a few "choice words" and some research on the Internet. We had never encountered this problem and didn't know if it involved replacing the entire sink or what. Thank goodness for handy online resources.

It's now one week later and there are no leaks and all seems well! ~K

New Biscuit Recipe

Tried and true Bisquick biscuits are the norm at our house, but we decided to try a new recipe this morning. Supposedly this is the biscuit recipe used by Popeye's - instead of milk it calls for sour cream and never-chilled club soda. They not only look good but tasted good - with homemade Bob Evans sausage gravy. ~K
